The Story of Our Farm

The Story of Our Farm

In 2020 we named our farm Garden of Eden, or I could also say the farm named itself. The very first week we moved in I discovered a snake skin under the apple tree that is prominent in the front yard. Snakes bring up all kinds of primal feelings in humans, and the skin itself was of significant enough size that upon seeing it I felt the need to sit beside it and allow it to speak to me. As I sat under the shade of the apple tree gently touching the skin laying there I began to have a deeper understanding of the land’s energy.

This skin symbolized the purpose of our farm being to help ourselves and others shed the old to make way for the NEW. To face fears and outgrow them, thus integrating ourselves with the courage to overcome any challenge or opposition. The apple offered sweet guidance through it’s symbolic nature of knowledge and teaching. Apple seeds also contain the cyanide producing chemical Amygdalin, reminding me that knowledge contains positive and negative aspects so that integrating wisdom becomes necessary for balance.

The paper hornets nest (found in the carport) brought with it the importance of the group/tribe/spiritual family and the sacredness of learning and living together. This nest was also a reminder that nature demands respect just as our souls and spirits do. Our current society has normalized the disrespect of all levels of our awareness and surroundings, people are unconsciously being stung and bitten on a mental level so that even their souls are aching. This pain (like the snake bite or wasp sting) is given as medicine, as a Divine reminder to be aware of your surroundings and honor your space.

In the Biblical story of Eden, humanity once lived in a consciousness which was unaware of good or evil. The occupants of the Garden lived in a state of non-duality, totally immersed a Love that comes without judgment. Once humanity ate from the tree which contained the concepts we call “good” and “evil”, our unified awareness of unconditioned Love divided into the knowledge of Good and Evil. From this moment on the observation of Good and Evil became the cause of every war (both internally and played out on the world stage).

This beautiful finding under the tree pointed me back to a moment before that knowledge was eaten, but not as erasing something I had learned or experienced in my life of duality. Rather, duality itself fell out of judgment (into a balance or neutrality) and became as the positive/negative prongs of a plug, light and darkness, hot and cold. In that space I realized that beyond duality each of us has access to The Garden of Eden.

Our Farm Philosophy

Our Farm was created with the understanding that humanity is happiest and most fulfilled when working in alignment with nature rather than fighting against it. The farm provides us and our guests with fresh eggs, milk, sheep cheese, fruits and vegetables as the seasons permit. We can accommodate almost every dietary requirement for our guests if notified 72 hours ahead of time.

All of our animals are fed by the land and are cared for as members of our Tribe. Guests can enjoy watching the animals and are invited into the gardens to enjoy and partake of the flowers, fruits, and veggies.

Things to do on the Farm

Our Farm is surrounded by State Park, and our front yard offers access to miles of trails. Guests are encouraged to utilize the trails all times of the year. We can provide you with maps and tips for the best experience.

Many clients who sign up for walk and talk therapy prefer to hike with us on these trails to see the spectacular views and experience the healing ability of nature.

We are also located about 7 minutes from Frozen Head, 7 minutes from Potter’s Falls, and are within an easy scenic drive to many tourist spots such as Catoossa Wildlife Park, WindRock, and Wartburg Speedway.
